In an almost exclusive golfing community of Summerlin, is a classy, yet eclectic eatery BJ’s Restaurant/Brewhouse. Microbreweries are not something new, but BJ’s has simply perfected the concept. Establishments which have a full service bar in Las Vegas normally aren’t family friendly. A visitor thinks of images of seedy bar with an undesirable element. This is not the case.
The location is almost as good as the restaurant itself. Palm trees, mountains, and bustling businesses surround BJ’s. The parking lot is packed as if it was grand opening, but the visit was during the middle of the week. Upon entering, the electricity is evident by the wait staff buzzing around, conversations flowing freely, and not one person leaving the establishment. One person leaves and five more replace them.
The full service bar is stocked to the hilt. The draw of the bar is the vast selection of the microbrews. The selections are as extensive as the homemade cocktails BJ’s serves.
Wait Staff and Menu
Every member of the wait staff was professional. There wasn’t much time to have any other emotion due to the amount of business. Although the wait staff was busy, there was never a time when the needs of the customer were in question.
On top of professionalism, the staff was knowledgeable. Not being a frequent drinker, questions were asked regarding the different beers. If this were the GMAT, the staff would have just been accepted into Harvard Business. There was not a time when they didn’t know what they were talking about.
BJ’s Restaurant/Brewhouse cannot be classified into one type of dining. A visitor can dine on half-pound burgers, fresh salads, pizza and Italian cuisine, and appetizers. A specialty at BJ’s is the menu created meals from the chefs. These are something special. The items include:
Miso salmon – Sautéed with a Miso citrus glaze and served with white rice, snow peas, carrots, red bell peppers and onions
Thai Salmon – Spicy Thai sauce, white rice, snow peas, carrots, red bell peppers and onions topped with fresh mango salsa
Ahi Poke – Chopped sashimi-grade Ahi and green and yellow onions are marinated in our signature
poke sauce. Topped with diced avocados and served with crispy wonton chips
Gluten-Free Thin Crust Pizza – A flavorful, herb-infused, 10-inch crust baked to a golden brown and topped with your favorite gluten-free toppings
The dining experience was exceptional. The pricing was even better. Depending on the menu item, the entrees were in the $10-18 range. The items which were more were the seafood items and select steaks. After inquiring about the pricing on the seafood, the explanation was fluctuating market prices.

My Take and Thoughts
The final verdict is WOW. BJ’s Restaurant/Brewhouse has a business model which will work and grow attractively. The craftsmanship of the dishes make the diner think they are eating at a posh restaurant in a metropolitan city. The salads were fresh and crisp. The steak was tender and juicy and not overcooked. Even the dessert was made with precision an elegant artistry. Overall, the experience at BJ’s Restaurant/Brewhouse was one of the best out of the hundreds of restaurants in the Las Vegas valley.
