Black Friday shopping is a lot of fun and you can find great bargins for almost everyone on your list. Sopping for foodies and culinary gifts is a little tougher than usual but you can still find some great bargains if you know where to look!
We suggest your start your culinary gift search at FSK Mall. The doors to the mall will open at 5am to give you a great time to shop in the mall, but arrive early because Sears, Macy’s and JC Penny all open at 4am – All of them have extensive options for kitchenware and homeware if that is what you are looking for.
Once the mall opens then head inside and visit Antietam Gallery, Kirklands and Yankee Candle for some more unusual things to spice up your holiday kitchen and grab some spices on the way through.
Once you’re finished with the mall then make the run back through the parking lot and find your way to the () Maryland Christmas Show at the Frederick County Fairgrounds, on East Patrick Street to the East of downtown Frederick. The fairgrounds are hosting a seven building craft fair with plenty of options for food ideas, cooking implements and other holiday themed deals.
If you’re looking for a little fun as well shopping then you can head from the fairgrounds into downtown Frederick where there are plenty of culinary options. Take in some food at one of Frederick’s many great restaurants to get you in the mood and then enjoy carols and free hot chocolate as you browse some of Fredericks more unusual stores like the Frederick Basket Company, The Little Pottery Shop and the Lebherz Oil and Vinegar Emporium.
Finally, if you haven’t tired of shopping it is time to take a drive outside of Frederick to Sugarloaf Mountain Winery. From noon until 5pm on Black Friday Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard will be offering 10% off some of their award winning wines and serving hot soup and mulled wine all day.
With these options on your list you should be able to find some great culinary gifts for the foodies on your Christmas or holiday list. You can even avoid some of the Black Friday crowds and have some fun, instead of being trampled on your way into a departments store.
