Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk has 20 percent fewer calories and 55 percent less fat than their regular ice cream.
Opening the one quart container of light ice cream, I’m surprised by the dark, rich chocolate color. I taste the Blue Bell Light French Silk ice cream. It takes a few minute to place the taste. Then I have a revelation! It reminds me of those chocolate fudgesicles. It has a much different consistency compared to the Skinny Cow ice cream and Taste of Carvel products.
The Blue Bell chocolate French silk would pair well with Duncan Hines triple chocolate decadence brownies.
Here are some things I learned about the Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk from my review:
No. 1: Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk calories: A half cup serving of the Blue Bell Light has 150 calories.
No. 2: Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk nutritional facts: A serving has 4.5 grams of fat, zero trans fats, 2.5 grams of saturated fat, 105 mg sodium, 19 grams of sugar, 4 grams of protein and less than 1 gram of fiber.
No. 3: Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk ingredients: The Blue Bell Light ice cream ingredients include milk, sugar, eggs, skim milk, cream, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, whey, cocoa, cellulose gum, vegetable gums, salt, flour (wheat) and soy flour.
No. 4: Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk allergens: The Blue Bell Light French Silk flavor contains gluten from the wheat as well as dairy and soy.
No. 5: Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk vitamins: The Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk contains 8 percent Vitamin A, 10 percent calcium and 4 percent recommended amount of iron.
A good source of calcium, the light ice cream is a good choice if you are on a low-fat diet, but it’s not the best option for low-carb dieters. The sugar content is high with 19 grams. Also, they have used high fructose corn syrup, which always increases my appetite. Sugar is the second ingredient, and high fructose corn syrup is further down the list.

The Blue Bell Light Chocolate French Silk is like having a fudgesicle in a bowl! It’s sweet and light with an icier as opposed to creamier consistency.
For taste I give it a 4 out of 5 stars, but I don’t recommend it if you are on a diet because I’m willing to bet most people don’t just have a half a cup!
