Some thoughts from last night’s episode:
Is it me, or are the intros just not as creative as they used to be. The second I saw the guy on the beach with the metal detector, I knew he was going to find a piece of jewelry and, attached to it, a body. Though I loved the fact he stole the necklace, it just didn’t seem as interesting as finding a human hand inside black bear or discovering a dead body inside the wall of a club after a Brennan bar fight.
I did, however, like how the murderer was someone we were introduced to during the episode but it was done in a way that made it easy to forget about him until the very end. When you think about it, he should have been the obvious choice from the beginning.
That being said, do criminals really make it so easy in real life? Not only did he confess (before being read his rights), he goes through the effort to keep the body on ice for two days and then hide it but still holds onto the murder weapon and uses it in his day-to-day activities. What person in their right mind would do that?
I’m really not sure if I liked the side story involving Colin Fisher and his return after a stint in rehab because of depression; only because the writers seemed a bit afraid they would take it too far and, as a result, never really let it develop.
I think it’s only a matter of time before the show takes that big leap and has Brennan coming to grips with the fact she is in love with Booth and finally pairing them together as a couple. Of course, I’m still not sure how that would work since they have already said they wouldn’t be able to work together if they were romantically involved.
When it does happen, I don’t think his current girlfriend, Hannah, will be a factor. The episode went out of its way to show how light she travels and I think that’s a hint she’ll grow restless at some point in the near future and move on.
Now that the cat is out of the bag regarding Angela’s pregnancy, I wonder if this will be one of those “television only” type pregnancies that will result in the baby being born (likely in some very bizarre way) in the season finale.
