Brad Womack as The Bachelor? Again? Rumors have Brad Womack returning to The Bachelor as the next choice as a bachelor seeking love on the hit reality show. This might come as a huge surprise to viewers of the show, especially since Womack was already given a turn on the show back in 2007. During the 2007 season finale of The Bachelor, Womack shocked viewers by not choosing either of the two final girls. It was the first time that someone wasn’t chosen in the season finale, and it was a decision that was debated by fans of the show for months after it aired.
The Bachelor hasn’t exactly had a good run at putting together couples that have stayed together, and maybe Womack shouldn’t be faulted for not choosing one of the two girls he put into the finale. If he wasn’t in love with either of them, then he truly made the right decision in not stringing one of the women along with false sentiment. Both Womack and ABC received a lot of flak for that finale, but in the end, ABC saw ratings go up, and now that the show is doing better than it ever has before, producers seem to have a free card to do just about anything they want with the show.
Entertainment Weekly reported last night that Womack rumors were floating around, and that there are people stating that he will be the next Bachelor to be revealed. It would be interesting to hear what DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft (the two women he decided to not propose to on the 2007 finale) have to say about these rumors. The official announcement of who the next star of The Bachelor is will come (you guessed it) during another ABC show next week. During the Monday episode of Dancing With the Stars, viewers will learn who The Bachelor will have as their next leading man.
Womack certainly took a hit in popularity when he refused to give viewers a fairy-tale ending to the 2007 season of The Bachelor, but maybe by sticking to his own principles, viewers will be willing to come back for another season. The other thought, though, is that viewers might be bored with the concept and not even tune in. That seems to be a risky proposition to ABC and producers of the show, leading some to assume that this rumor couldn’t possibly be true. We will all find out Monday night for sure, but there are bound to be dozens of other rumors in the news before then.
