Kirsten Stewart will be doing the birth scene for the movie Breaking Dawn much like it is written in the book, according to People Magazine. If anyone can do this, it will be Stewart, because she already appears as if she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders in many of her candid pictures. Her natural demeanor will give her a good start on making the scene realistic.
Stewart does not have the perky, smiling face that is seen on most celebrities her age. This is not a jab at Stewart — she is one great actress — but she very seldom smiles. She outdoes most of her peer group of young actresses in the quiet emotion she lends to her scenes, but her look is almost always serious.
Stewart played Jodie Foster’s daughter in Panic Room when she was just a kid, and her look back then was the same. She is just one of those people with a perpetual contemplating look, and sometimes frowning appearance to her face.
This look that Stewart has naturally will help in playing the role of Bella giving birth in the movie Breaking Dawn. With just a bit of exaggeration, she can play the graphic birthing scene so it will be believable.
Looking back at Stewart’s photos since she became so famous for her role as Bella in the Twilight series movies, she looks sullen and ready to cry. This mysterious look has made her the perfect choice as Bella, because Bella is a young woman venturing into the unknown.
This role played by anyone else would have not had the impact that Stewart has brought to the screen.
Think about some of her peers and what they would look like in her role. For instance, if you put Miley Cyrus in that role, she would be too upbeat even standing still to pull off a realistic Bella. Emily Van Camp, from Brothers and Sisters, is too sweet to play this role, and Gossip Girls’ Blake Lively may come the closest to a believable Bella, but she would pale in comparison to Stewart.
Stewart is Bella, and with anyone else playing that role, the seductive Twilight series would not be as popular as it is today. Of course Robert Pattinson has one-half of this praise coming to him too.
The emotion is seen through Stewart’s eyes and, at times, it can be intense. This is what the scene of giving birth in Breaking Dawn is going to need. Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter for Breaking Dawn, is counting on the birthing scene to be viewed through the face of Stewart playing Bella, as well as the other cast members.
Rosenberg does not want to tone down the scene as it reads from the book Breaking Dawn, but she does not want to add a gore factor. The scene viewed through the cast’s faces is what she is counting on to give it the wow factor that it has in the book. This will be one tall order, but something within the acting capabilities of Stewart.
