This may be the most hyped game of the 2010 NFL season to date. With a slew of story lines and rivalries to back this one up, this game unfolded as a missed opportunity to late game heroics for Favre and company.
The first half was rather bland, as neither team seemed too happy about playing in the rain on this Monday night. The Jets went up 9-0 with three field goals in the first half.
The second half is where milestones and broken purple hearts came into play. In the third quarter, Favre hooked up with his new best friend Randy Moss for the the first time during Brett’s 500th career TD pass. Less than five minutes later, Favre hits wide receiver Percy Harvin with a beautiful pass for another TD (Harvin ended up snagging two of those).
Late in the fourth quarter is where the magic stopped for Favre and the Vikings though as he threw a pick 6 to Lowery to end any chance of a comeback. Minnesota travels back home next week to play an also struggling division rival Dallas, while The Jets are headed to Denver.
