Is seems that Palin Derangement Syndrome has now started to affect the eldest daughter of Sarah Palin, and for reasons that seem rather trivial. Bristol Palin is receiving death threats for her continued appearance on “Dancing With the Stars.”
“The former Alaska governor’s daughter and her dancing partner, Mark Ballas, have been receiving death threats in the lead up to Tuesday night’s finale, TMZ reported.
“The threats resulted in ABC beefing up security in Los Angeles on Monday.
“Sources tell the gossip website that the show may break from its traditional format and not allow the duo to be interviewed outside Times Square if they head to New York, TMZ reported.
“Instead, it’s likely Palin and Ballas will be interviewed inside the studio where it’s safer.”
There was already a previous security scare when an envelope addressed to Bristol was found to contain a white, powdery substance similar to anthrax, but turned out to be talcum powder.
Palin’s performances have gotten low marks from the studio judges, but high marks from the audience of “Dancing With the Stars.” This has led some people to believe that there is a Tea Party plot to keep Bristol Palin on the show by flooding the voting lines. “Dancing With the Stars” officials insist that there are safeguards to prevent that kind of voting manipulation.
Still, considering the story of the man who shot out his television after Bristol Palin won yet again, leading to a 15- hour standoff with the State Police, one has to ask the following question:
Has a certain segment of the population lost its collective mind?
Mind, hating Sarah Palin does have a certain degree of understandability. Her political success or failure will drive future history for quite some time to come, and not to the liking of a great many people.
But it doesn’t matter if a 20-year-old woman, her notoriety solely based upon whom her mother is, wins a televised dance contest or not. It will not affect matters of war or peace, the level of unemployment, the rise or fall of the stock market, or even the job approvals of either her mother or President Barack Obama one iota.
And yet Bristol Palin’s presence on “Dancing With The Stars” seems to have some people believing that the world is coming to an end, that they will never be happy again, and that fire and pestilence, famine and war, and dogs and cats living together will suddenly come to pass.
In short, lighten up. By this time next year, no one will remember who won “Dancing With the Stars.” Threatening to kill somebody for dancing seems to be to descend into the depths of madness.
In short, it is only a stupid TV show.
