Drama, drama and more drama! After Brandy was voted off last week on Dancing With the Stars to everyone’s disbelief, this has been one of media frenzy. A better dancer was voted off the show and rumors of loop holes in voting were the focus following last week’s elimination, showing up on entertainment headlines. After Brandy was announced being the dancer voted off the show, there was a moment of shock and awe in the audience, and even total disbelief on some of the cast member’s faces when the results were announced.
Co-host Tom Bergeron tackled the voting controversy head on, saying if folks didn’t like the results then they should have voted one way or another. He stressed on how if you get a busy signal while phoning in a vote, keep trying to call in. He was classy yet firm with his explanation and delivery.
Kyle Massey and Lacey started off the night with a spectacular routine. He did a good job on the fox trot and has turned into a gentleman during the course of this show – when he needs to be. He has matured as a young man while hanging onto his goofy personality. The redemption jive they did during the freestyle was awesome, performing to the song “Tootsie Roll.” He still surprised me on how agile he is for his body type. .
Bristol Palin. Oh Bristol. She came, she tried, but she just did not rise to the occasion to compete in the high ranks of the finals on Dancing With the Stars. She said she was not comfortable being sexy and kind of gave Mark a hard time about the routine. She said she was more intimidated with the media circus than with the actual dance competition. Bristol was not even entertaining the idea of being sexy and resisted Mark’s encouragement.
When it came time to dance, it looked like Mark was guiding her so much around the dance floor, especially during the second routine. Yes, I have been rooting for Bristol Palin this entire season of Dancing With the Stars, but I do not believe she deserves to win the show. I will give her credit for putting her whole self out there for the world to see and know.
Jennifer Grey and Derek were on fire – twice! Despite her physical concerns with her neck, they hit everything they needed to hit and danced two spectacular routines. The freestyle dance was the highlight of the show, performing to “Do You Love Me,” which was another welcomed ‘Dirty Dancing’ soundtrack flashback.
The results show of Dancing With the Stars will probably be one of the most watched episodes with all of the controversy that has ensued over the last week. Can one imagine the uproar and reaction if Bristol Palin DOES indeed win the competition? Tune in to find out – I know I will!
