The Brooklyn Do Gooder Awards celebrates residents who give back to the community and work towards improving Brooklyn. Founded by the Brooklyn Community Foundation, the finalists for the competition were announced on October 20th.
Brooklyn Heights resident, Brad Smith, was chosen as one of the twenty finalists for the award. Brad is known for hosting neighborhood tours and received recognition for his volunteer work at the Greeter office.
According to the Brooklyn Community Foundation, finalists were selected by online public votes and there were over 250 nominees to choose from on the website.
The next round for the competition includes interviews with a judging panel. The winner of the Brooklyn Do Gooder Awards will receive $5,000 to spend on a Brooklyn charity of their choice.
