The NY Daily News reports that the “iconic” Shake Shack will be opening up its very first Brooklyn location right here on Fulton Street.
Not set to open up until sometime “next year” unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit for their burgers and shakes. When they do finally open up they will be occupying the “primo spot” where Tony’s Famous Pizza is currently, at Fulton and Adams.
Tony’s has, reports the Daily, been “offered a new location elsewhere in the mall,” so they probably won’t be disappearing from the area at least.
Reactions by readers on Brownstoner to the news are definitely mixed. Many of course are excited while others say the burgers are “the most overrated ever” and others still wonder why people would be excited by a Shake Shack but not the Arby’s (which closed in August after being open only 7 months; read more about that here).
And others comment that Brooklyn Shake Shack rumors have arisen before and not come to fruition.
Is it real this time? Guess we’ll find out “next year.”
