A new law has passed allowing stores and restaurants to sell alcohol before noon on Sundays and after noon on Christmas day. This law passed the Senate and the House, now awaiting the Governor to sign it. This new law is receiving mixed emotions throughout South Oakland County. Some say it should remain the same, not changing their store policy of selling liquor. Others welcome the new law stating it is long overdue. A store or restaurant will be able to purchase an annual license for $160 to sell liquor prior to noon on Sundays and on Christmas day.
Western Market in Ferndale is welcoming the new law. Once the law goes into effect the beverage Manager says the store will take advantage of it.
