According to reports from YourNabe (1) “a gunman tried to rob the CVS Pharmacy on Court Street on October 10 and was busted two days later for the crime of riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.”
As it went down, the 22 year old entered the CVS “near First Place and approached the pharmacy counter at 5pm.”
The slick robber had fashioned a note saying “Put all your Oxycontin in this bag! Keep quiet!”
The pharmacist returned the note to the man saying, “I can’t do that.” When the thug insisted and lifted up his shirt to reveal a ‘gun’ tucked inside of his waistband, he thought he had the pharmacist pegged. Unfortunately what they don’t teach you in burglary school is that you can’t freak out which this robber did, and he fled on his bicycle.
Two days later this goon was spotted “riding his bicycle on Fourth Place near Clinton Street,” on the sidewalk. Cops stopped him and the thief’s demeanor was suspicious so the officers searched him to discover “an imitation gun and knife.” Detectives had heard about this bicycle bandit and when the pharmacist identified him, it was over.
The lesson here? Don’t ride your bike on the sidewalk.
