Blazers are a classic item that have become so popular recently, that both men and women are wearing them regularly. While blazers have been linked to formal wear for men, they can also be worn casually and for different occasions. Here I will list off some ways that men can take a formal blazer and use it in their everyday ensembles.
Jeans and t-shirt
Wearing a t-shirt and jeans with a blazer is probably the easiest way to take an outfit from ordinary to trendy. While a plain white t-shirt is the simplest way to go about this look, different color tees with different patterns can work as well. One must be sure that the t-shirt fits well. It does not have to be too tight, but it must fit the body. If the shirt is too loose it will not look appealing.
Button down shirt and dock shoes
This is a great look for the summer months. A button down shirt with cargo shorts dock shoes gives off more of a nautical look that is a bit more sophisticated than your usual casual outfit. The button down shirt can be a solid color or a plaid pattern, whatever; just make sure to coordinate the fabrics and colors appropriately. The button down shirt is also a great look to wear with just jeans as well.
Cardigan or hoodie and funky sneakers
For this look, a guy’s blazer must be a little looser fitting. It does not have to be oversized, just a size or two bigger than being completely fitted. When wearing a cardigan under a blazer, this can make an ensemble look very dressy. In order to make it a tad more casual try wearing with jeans and a pair of colorful sneakers. These sneakers can range from a pair of converse or a funky pair of Nikes. Any sneakers with a blazer are bound to give an ensemble a trendy look. If one decides to wear a hoodie under the blazer, this look is completely effortless. This can be worn with just about any casual ensemble and gives an outfit the perfect balance of casualness and a clean look.
Although the blazer has been an item that has been worn for several decades, it is never too late to revamp an older style. While blazers are still a great look for a business interview or an upscale party, they are also a key item to own in men’s casual wear as well. J
