Chances are, if you have lived in the same place in San Francisco for more than twenty years, you are in an extreme minority. For this reason, be sure to say goodbye to old friends in the neighborhood that will be closing their doors at the end of the year. Trust me, Mario at the Country Cheese Company (CCC ) can tell you some tales about Haight history!
Haighteration.com recently reported that two businesses will be leaving the area at the end of 2010. Five Star Truffles will relocate to the Castro. The CCC, on the other hand, is still not clear where they will be relocating to. The CCC wants to find a nearby location in the Haight but still has not announced any plans.
The CCC received a three month notice that draws 26 years at that location to an end. Is unclear what will become of that property once they vacate it. In the meantime, be sure to visit your old neighbor one last time and remember to add their cheese, nuts, and other high quality snacks to your holiday to do list.
Also, don’t forget to promote your neighbors by adding local products made in the Haight to gift baskets. Truffles and cheese are not the only local Haight specialities! Currently, there is not a Country Cheese Company website to check for Re-Opening dates.
