The hard hitting Chicago Bears travel to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants October 3rd. The New York Giants are facing discipline problems as they look as if they are going to implode any minute. The New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will have his hands full trying to make decisions for starters in this game.
Eli Manning has been inconsistent for the New York Giants and Jay Cutler has won his first three games of the NFL season. Cutler and his Chicago Bears may be 3-0 at this point of the season but it has been an ugly three wins. The New York Giants have been disgraceful in their two losses and they looked like a well oiled machine against the Carolina Panthers (0-3).
Passing Attack of New York Giants & Chicago Bears Could Unravel at Any Time
New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning struggled in his last game against a stout defense in the Tennessee Titans. Now Manning faces another defense in the Chicago Bears that fly around the field and are the epitome of a ball hawking defense. Manning will have his hands full and unless the New York Giants find a scheme that can thwart the speedy defense of the Chicago Bears, Eli Manning and the New York Giants offense will struggle once again.
Brett Favre has always been known as a gunslinger and now Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears is quickly assuming the title of gunslinger. The moniker is not one that endears a quarterback to his coach. NFL head coaches and offensive coordinators prefer a quarterback that is methodical and knows how to throw the ball away when in trouble. Cutler will never be that quarterback. Passing attack edge still goes to the Chicago Bears and gunslinger, Jay Cutler.
Running Game for Both New York Giants & Chicago Bears is Non Existent
The New York Giants running game has been pathetic in the first three NFL games. Brandon Jacobs has basically been eliminated from the offense and as this Pro Football Talk post suggests, his days may be numbered with the New York Giants. Ahmad Bradshaw has also failed to take over the number one running back spot for the New York Giants offense.
Matt Forte is one of the most exciting NFL running backs in the NFL but he has not been productive running the ball out of the Chicago Bears backfield. Forte has only rushed for 108 yards but he does have 202 yard receiving. An interesting dilemma for the Chicago Bears offense. Forte is capable of crashing straight ahead and delivering punishment when he needs to shake things up. Running game edge goes to the Chicago Bears but very close.
