The Chicago CityPASS offers a more practical way to visit the most popular attractions around Chicago. At a combined attraction price, you can visit the Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, and a choice between the John Hancock Observatory or the Skydeck Chicago. Aside from the more affordable cost, the Chicago CityPASS also allows you to skip through the typically long lines when buying tickets to these top Chicago spots. All attractions are open daily.
A Chicago CityPASS is valid for one-time use within nine days. You may buy it directly from any of the attractions where it can be used or through the CityPASS website. When purchasing ahead of time, you can either buy and download the CityPASS e-ticket in exchange for a booklet upon arrival to the city or buy the booklet to be shipped directly to your mailing address.
The first attraction you visit stamps or scans your booklet, which then activates it for its standard nine-day validity period.
As of 2010, the Chicago CityPASS costs $69 for adults and $59 for children ages 3 to 11. Given these rates, you can save about 50 percent of the actual cost of separately buying tickets for each attraction. Take note that while the CityPASS is priced for children ages 3 to 11, it is generally valid for any child 11 years old and under. Children under 3 years old may be eligible for free or discounted admission at some attractions. However, in such cases, an adult companion is required to stand in line to secure a free child’s ticket. While this can save you money, it also means spending more time in ticket lines.
For updated rates, it is best to check the Chicago CityPASS website or call 1-888-330-5008.
