The thirty-three Chilean miners who have been trapped underground, in a shelter in the mine, in Copiapo Chile, for three weeks, may finally be able to communicate with there loved ones today, Sunday August 29th.
The thirty-three miners were trapped when a main tunnel in the mine caved in August 5th, and left them trapped 2300 feet below the surface. Amazingly, all thirty-three miners were unhurt and survived. Their spirits in these 3 weeks have been more than commendable.
Today, instead of sending notes out to their family and friends, which they have been able to do, they may be able to finally talk to them directly which can help the spirits of both family members as well as the miners. They may be trapped down there for four months. Rescue efforts will be slow to ensure there will not be another cave in.
The communication line will be set up today for the miners to talk to their loved ones and family who have built tents and kept “vigil” while they are waiting. I am still amazed at the cooperation amongst officials, family members and the miners, not to mention the bravery of these thirty-three spectacular men.
