In today’s age people are always looking for the easy way out. With most jobs only giving employees a 30 minute lunch break, they have little time to worry about healthy choices at lunchtime.
So as Americans what choice do we have? Fast food.
Almost everybody enjoys indulging in the sodium showered deliciousness of major fast food corporations. The setbacks of ordering these meals, in my opinion, outweigh the benefits. But how can you minimize health factors while saving money?
The answer is in the dollar menus.
While not every fast food chain offers this wonderful option, many of them do. The key to saving money and eating healthy fast food is to obviously go for the healthiest and cheapest items on the menu.
For example, McDonald’s offers $1 side salads. The verdict is how much ranch you choose to use.
Another huge mistake by consumers is there choice of beverage. If you are health conscious and eat out at fast food restaurants the only thing you should order to drink is…………you guessed it, water!
Now how can a dollar side salad and a cup of water possibly fill you up, you say? Honestly, it is not a very filling lunch, but you could compensate for the loss of your dear friend the Big-Mac, the Whopper, or anything else by simply adding a healthy fruit to your lunch. Compensate for loss of protein by eating a handful of nuts, or even lean beef jerky.
I hope this article will help you in your future endeavors when it comes to saving money and eating nutritious at fast food joints.
