Sin, by definition is an estrangement from God; it is anything that is considered a transgression of God’s will. It is the concept of acts that violate moral rule, www.wikipedia.org . We know this from Biblical teachings through Christ and the apostles, especially Paul. Christians in the old days put in a lot of effort to preach against sin, but in the modern days, we are dealing with a different and deadly form of sin. This is the sin of compromise, practiced by Churches worldwide and other Christian institutions.
Compromise in essence refers to making a deal where one agrees to give up part of his demands. Compromise in Christianity is a deadly sin, it means agreeing to pursue personal desires at the expense of spiritual development. Christ says He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one goes to the father except through Him. Every Christian desires to get to eternal life, but less than 2% are willing to follow the teachings to the core. Rather it is easier to enjoy the pleasures of the world, justifying ourselves with the common phrase; life is too short. Individual Christians compromise in many areas of their lives. Cases of unforgiveness, secular music, sexual sin, worshipping other forms of gods, lumping on to ourselves all the glory and other compromises are rampant. On institutional levels, churches have resulted to compromising their messages, with the goal to maintain membership; others have been known to hire actors who then fool the congregation, on critical aspects of the healing power of God, and sharing testimonies that do not reflect God. Other institutions embrace practices that are totally condemned by the Bible such as homosexuality and secular music. Messages being preached on the pulpit have been compromised to entertain the congregations rather than to address their needs.
You will agree with me, that it has become very difficult to know which minister is speaking the truth. Those who attempt to speak the truth end up being thrown out of the church, for fear of risking loss of membership. John 4:23 – 24 says, ” but the hour is coming, and now is, when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth”. Not everybody who calls the name of the Lord shall inherit the kingdom of Heaven, this requires us to be careful on the things we do and say in secret. The Size of the church is not a factor of the truth, and neither is the popularity of the preacher. These are the times when Jesus relies on individual Christians to stand up for the truth. He suffered here on earth and died a very embarrassing death, that you and I may receive salvation. His mission on earth was not compromised, to escape the suffering and the death, but was designed to overcome the evil one. John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace, in the world you will have tribulations; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”.
Think of vomit, it is disgusting, and makes you want to get out as quick as possible. The church today is like vomit to the Lord, promoting pursuit of worldly pleasures, operating like a business entity, embracing homosexuality. Which God will tolerate all that? My call to true Christians is for us to stand up for the truth, preach against compromise, even at the risk of losing our membership in our respective churches. God hates compromise, we cannot afford to be lukewarm, its either we are cold or we are hot. Revelation 3:15-16, says, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth”. It is not in my place to judge, the word of God judges, and that is what it says.
