Singer Christina Aguilera and her husband, Jordan Bratman have split, Us magazine confirms. Aguilera, 29 surprises fans with the announcement she and Bratman, 33, are separating. However, it’s not anything new for the couple, just more official, according to one source. What made the couple split?
Christina Aguilera has been married to Bratman for five years. They met in 2002 and married in 2005 and until last year Aguilera told “Us” that she felt “very blessed” in her marriage with him. In Hollywood years that was about 20 years ago and the lifespan of marriages there is getting shorter and shorter.
A source told Us that Aguilera and Bratman have been “separated for a few months” now.
The insider explained what prompted the split between Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman by saying, “They were very much in love, but over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife.”
Apparently Christina even suggested she and her husband take a trip to Italy to rekindle their fading relationship, but it didn’t pan out. No matter what their differences are, the source confirms that the well-being of the couple’s two-year-old son, Max, is their main priority.
“He is their main concern,” said the source.
Will the split between Christina Aguilera and her husband wind up being another divorce in tinseltown? Open marriages are rumored to be all over town lately. That may be the newest option.
