Everyone is artistic. Viewers sometimes fail to see the message. No worries with the Christmas Reindeer Banner. It is mistake-proof because you are creating it. Unique things have no comparison, making your decoration perfect. Best of all, it is simple to make.
Some time is involved in cutting, sewing, and painting, but it can easily be created in less than a day. This is not a kid friendly craft. There are sharp scissors, needles, pins, and small items that can cause harm. However, the craft can be modified to do away with the dangerous items. Use your imagination if your kids persist in wanting to do one, also.
Things needed for project
Go to this website, select a template, and print out the page. Temporarily allow pop-ups to get the templates.
Cut a piece of light-weight, light colored material for the banner, 18″ w x 12″ h
Needle and thread to sew edges, or Stitch-witchery
Pen to trace pattern on material
Acrylic or craft paints and brush to paint picture (you can get a kit at the Dollar Store and have an extra picture for you or the kids)
Decorations or edging for banner, if desired
Scotch tape (used to hold template and cloth on sunlit window)
ModgePodge, if you want to place some cutouts on the banner
Ribbon or cloth cord for hanging
Tape the template to a window with sunlight coming through. This will make tracing easier. Tape the cloth over the template, positioning it to the template.
Lightly trace the pattern on the material.
Create the banner
Hem the banner or put edging on.
Paint the reindeer; let dry.
Decorate the open spaces, if desired.
Attach a ribbon or cloth cord, using decorative gold safety pins, to each side of the top of the banner. Allow length for hanging.
You can also use the template to create hand-made Christmas cards, using the same procedures. Have fun, and Merry Christmas!
