When the leaves start falling, we know Christmas is around the corner. Fear not! Memphis has many Fall and Christmas Festivals to choose from; just don’t forget your Christmas list! There are many to choose from, but these “tried and true” options that I highly recommend.
Don’t worry if you missed the festivals in September and early October. Late fall is when these great choices take place!
Merry Marketplace takes place at the Agricenter Memphis, Thursday thru Saturday on October 28 – 30, 2010. This fall festival is hosted by the Junior League of Memphis and has a long list of vendors, listed on their website: http://www.jlmemphis.org/?nd=merry. Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Memphis, which works closely to help women and children in need. Admission is $10 and parking is free.
Busy Women’s Expo will be held at the Agricenter Memphis as well, Friday through Sunday on November 12 – 14, 2010. This expo combines shopping and women’s wellness. Vendors and workshops are listed on their website, as well as a $1 off admission coupon: http://www.midsouthmediagroup.com/Busy-Womens-EXPO.html. Admission is $8 for a one day pass and $12 for a three day pass; children 12 and under attend free.
Christmas Cottage will also be held at the Agricenter Memphis, Friday through Sunday on November 26 – 28, 2010. This is also Thanksgiving weekend. Vendors are listed on their website: http://www.eastportentgroup.com/ where you can also find a $2 off coupon. Admission is $8 and children ten and under attend free.
Memphis Flea Market is held on the third Saturday and Sunday of each month and is also a great option for Christmas shopping in Memphis. I prefer the festivals, but you never know what you might find at the flea market and often there are extra vendors who carry “gift” items during this time. This is also held at Agricenter Memphis. The website is: http://www.memphisfleamarket.com/index2.html . Admission is $2 and children 12 and under are free.
Don’t forget to print your discount coupons before you go, and my advice is to wear comfortable shoes! You will be doing a lot of walking and standing. Definitely take your Christmas list to check off, and include sizes and color preferences. Happy Shopping and Merry Christmas!
