Where the heck have these shows been? It’s been a long, hot summer without our favorite bad guys, good guys, and just plain crazy guys. But, the time has come for us to get wrapped up in all of our guilty pleasures once again. Start preparing for plenty of action at the water cooler this week, because you’re going to have a lot to talk about!
Let’s start with good ‘ole “Chuck”. This nerd ‘o hotness fills you half with hope and half with pity. Yeah, the guy finally got the girl, but he still has issues. And, they undoubtedly are going to get bigger this season. I keep thinking that my time with this show is almost done, but each week, they reel me back in with the numbnuts best friend and the cranky, gun-loving partner. Tune in on September 20 to see how it all unfolds.
Up next on my list is “Community”. I…can’t help myself. I so wanted to not be a fan of this show, but my husband insisted on watching it week after week, and now I’m a sucker for it. Joel McHale is just too good at playing the mostly-nonchalant-but-sometimes-cares leader of the pack. And, this season will prove just as entertaining with guest stars like Betty White and Drew Carey. Between you and me, I could watch an entire show of just Senor Chang. The season premieres on September 23.
Moving on, we arrive at my personal favorite, “The Office”. Oh, how I’ve longed for them to bring back Michael’s lost love, Holly. And, it sounds like they are going to make it happen. Of course, this will be Michael’s (Steve Carell’s) last season on the show, but I’m hoping that it proves to be the most entertaining season yet. The show was a little too realistic for me, at first. Too many of the interactions between the characters were actually happening in my own career, at my workplace. But, since then, the show has moved into a more unrealistic realm, and that is what makes it so fun to watch. Don’t miss the first episode of the season on September 23.
Last, but not least, is the long-running “Smallville”. Who can resist men in tights? We’re going to see Clark Kent become the superhero he’s meant to be in the final season. Of course, there will be plenty of other-worldly characters giving him a hard time. It will be interesting to see how they wrap up the series. I, for one, will be watching on September 24.
