Ciolino’s produce is a great little produce place I recently found kind of close to home. They are located at 6750 Lewis Avenue in Temperance, Michigan, which is not too far from me in the Toledo area. They appear to be a nice family run business, with a few perks that make the drive worth the time.
First off, the place has a great selection of local produce-vegetables, fruit, cheese, nuts and extras. The thing I like the most is that they all are laid out in the containers they received them in, and they are pretty much a pick and go as you see fit. These selections mean you need to really pay attention and not grab something that is too small or bug eaten, because when it comes straight from the field there is always a chance you might find some of that. But the prices are crazy, so much that they have a “Crazy Tuesday” sale where they give you even cheaper prices to the produce.
The second thing of the place is the size. It is huge compared to some of the other fruit and veggie stands and shops in the Toledo and Northwest Ohio area. If you are looking for something, even if it is weird and rare, they have it. I even saw cactus leaves in there the last time I went.
Finally, the staff that runs and operates the produce market are some of the friendliest people I have interacted with in a business sense. They are constantly asking and offering help without seeming intrusive, and they look to make sure that the place gives you an experience that would make you want to return.
Overall, I would recommend a trip to this place to check it out and get some good food. If you are going to pick up some good produce, then this is the place to go. Check out Ciolino Produce to get the good deals!
