2010 college football scores from opening night included eight games on the schedule. The first college football scores of the 2010 season weren’t all that impressive though, with really only two games of the eight that might have been in question. The other six games were complete blow-outs, teasing college football fans, but not really providing the substance necessary to fulfill the appetite of fans across the country. For the winning teams on Thursday, that probably won’t matter though, as they start out undefeated and get a head start on the rest of their conferences.
The best game of the night was in Utah, where Utah hosted No. 15 ranked Pittsburgh. Utah controlled most of the game on defense, but gave up two late scores to send the game into overtime. In the overtime period Utah put it away though, winning on a field goal to ice a 27-24 win. The other close game was Minnesota squeaking out a 24-17 win over Middle Tennessee, but that was about it when looking at the games that were competitive on the field.
As the Saturday games approach, hopefully there are more that will provide entertainment for fans, and fewer that turn into the one-sided affairs we saw on Thursday.
