The PSATs and SATs are both getting nearer and nearer in my high school career, and I want to be prepared for them. I have been taking written practice tests for a while now, which have surely been helping. However, a few weeks ago, I decided I needed an extra little boost, so I looked up study guides and found the Collegeboard official SAT online course. After a bit of research, I decided to pay the $70 and try it out. I couldn’t have made a better decision.
As soon as you log in for the first time, you are asked to take a full-length pretest to find your strengths and weaknesses. This also provides you with a baseline that you will try to improve. When I took this test, I scored a 630 in Critical Reading, a 590 in Writing, and a 700 in math. This showed me that I need to keep working in all ares, but especially in Writing and Critical Reading.
After you take the pretest, you are able to take advantage of any of the 18 SAT lessons that the program has to offer, including many lessons in each of the 3 subject areas and also a few overall SAT and PSAT lessons that provide you with overall information and strategies.
Each of these lessons focuses on a different aspect of the test, from sentence completion to geometry and algebra reviews. After each lesson, there are also quizzes on the information covered. There are a total of 4 lessons per quiz, and you can retake them at any time. You can also take a look at your progress report to see how far you have come in any of the three areas.
One of the best parts of the course is the 9 full length tests that you can take for extra practice. They are scored instantly, and they even include an essay! This brings me to another bonus of the SAT course, that there are many, many practice essays you can take that are all scored instantly!
In conclusion, I highly recommend this SAT course to anyone preparing for the SAT or PSAT. It has boosted my score more than 150 points so far, and I guarantee it will boost your score!
