COMMERCIALLY CHRISTMASby Stephanie Jeannot
And all the commercials of Christmas that’s coming
Over a month away but sales are going
And ads for gifts to place under the tree
For the days of Christmas we will soon see
Still in November, almost half past
Not yet Thanksgiving or the Friday that’s black
Now the decorations I already start to see
But I think this is too early for me
For Christmas has lost its true meaning
But still my heart beats loud for the season
For I love it, the lights and the family
And the carols and decorating the tree
And smiles of kid’s faces and the snowy ground
And the joy that seems to be all around
And the celebration of Jesus’ birth
For the day was made in honor of his worth
And the twelve days that begin on December 25th
But for me, now is too early to advertise it.
Even still, I’m more of a last minute shopper
I’m the one that after the cake is baked I add the ultimate topper.
But who knows, right or wrong, it’ll soon be here
What will you give to Jesus for his birthday this year?
