Conan O’Brien is getting ready for his new talk show “Conan” that will debut in November on TBS with the help of the interactive nature of the internet. To drum up interest in the show, his “Team Coco” put up a 24-hour office stairwell web cam on Wednesday.
The web cam showed many interesting goings on at the talk show’s office stairwell. The first people to appear on the web cam were three brightly-clad aerobics ladies. Mr. O’Brien was seen a couple hours later ignoring his old college professor that had stopped by to give an impromptu lecture. Other notable sightings were a dancing taco, a guitar-playing Rob Morrow who was promoting his new show “The Whole Truth,” an artist painting a nude picture of a guy wearing flesh-colored undies with a cartoon head of Conan covering his privates, a bunch of zombies, a food-eating contest, dancing bears wearing the aerobics wear and mariachis.
During the 23rd hour of the web cam a couple puppets announced the guests that will appear on the show. The premiere episode will welcome actor Seth Rogan and Jack White. Other guests during the first week will include Tom Hanks, Michael Cera and Soundgarden. Andy Richter will return as Conan’s sidekick.
The very first guest however will be chosen by popular vote. Among the choices leading the poll as of yet are Jack Nicholson, Lady Gaga and the full cast of the “Fat Albert” movie.
The web cam ended on Thursday morning after a raucous party with a lot of the guest appearances was shutdown by Andy Richter. Andy yelled at everyone to get back to work and then stomped down the stairs.
Conan O’Brien was named host of NBC’s The Tonight Show in September 2009 but was replaced with old host Jay Leno after only a few months and dismal ratings. O’Brien left the network and show with a $45 million negotiation that barred him from competing with the show for a year according to Wikipedia.
Conan will debut Monday November 8 at 11 pm on TBS
