Go to the Israel Museum of Art
Considered one of the leading art museums in the world it is a great place to spend your day. The museum displays art from around the world and from Israel. You can see classical work and modern art. The museum consists of a whole area so there are several different buildings and statues to see outside as well.
Visit Zion Square
This is the heart of the city’s nightlife. Zion Square is the place where a few different streets meet up. During the day it is a good place to look at shops and sit at restaurants. There are always people walking around and you can often see street performances. But at night the place looks totally changed. Teens and young adults flock to the area. There are lots of pubs and it is a great place if you are looking for some excitement.
Check out “The Shuk”- Jerusalem’s market
Shuk Machan’e Yehuda is more than just a market. It is a gathering place for many of the people in the city. You can find fruit, clothes, juice bars, food and more. There is even a stand dedicated only to selling Halva (a sweet made with sesame seeds). The market gets packed on Friday afternoons when people rush to buy food for Shabbat (the Sabbath).
Don’t forget the Sultan’s Pool
The Sultan’s Pool is a name of a valley by the Old City of Jerusalem. A place with a long history, it is now used to host festivals and performances. A lot of the famous singers, local and from out of the country, have preformed on the stage. Recently the finals of the Israeli equivalent of American Idol were held there.
