Courteney Cox and husband of 11 years, David Arquette, are now separated and admit they’ve been that way for “some time”. The couple, parents to 6-year-old daughter Coco, issued a statement regarding their trial separation which reads in part as follows:
“The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go through this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.”
Additionally they said, “We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.”
Cox and Arquette were married in 1999 after a three year courtship in which they met while filming the movie Scream. Coco was born in 2004 after the couple struggled for several years with infertility.
While some websites are reporting the couple had an open marriage, a few statements that Arquette made to radio personality Howard Stern on October 12 may confirm this.
Arquette admitted to Stern that he had had sex with another woman at least once, maybe twice, and that he and Courteney have not been intimate for the past four months. Arquette is reportedly referring to Jasmine Waltz, a bartender.

Other reports have linked Cox to co-star Brian Van Holt on her show, Cougar Town.
