First off, let me say I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis. I don’t want the hassle of putting it on every morning. My dog doesn’t care if I wear makeup to do laundry. For that reason, I don’t buy expensive cosmetics from department stores. I do buy good makeup and I replace it on a regular basis, for safety reasons. Recently, it was time to buy fresh makeup. That’s when I came across Cover Girls Exact line of eye make up.
This is a new find for me. The Cover Girl Exact Eyelights line is eyewear based on eye color. According to the publicity, “Each color-coordinated eye shadow collection is expertly designed to bring out your blues, greens, browns, and hazels.” Sounds good to me. I have brown eyes. I purchased Black Pearl mascara ($7.99), Vibrant Pearl Brightening liner ($6.99), and Vibrant Browns eye shadow set ($7.24). The eye shadow is a 4 color set. The colors are beige, copper brown, dark grey, and black, all with metallic shimmer. I wasn’t sure about the grey. I have used the collection for a month to church, work, and special occasions.
Eye Shadow Set
I have never used grey before, but I gave it a shot. The package includes directions on how to apply the eye shadow. The directions are clear and easy to use. I applied the eye shadow. I did soften the look with the brush included. It seemed a little heavy for day use, but my eyes did look good.
The eye liner is a twist cylinder applicator. Nothing to sharpen, easy to use. The eyeliner is not sharp like a pencil, but it does apply a nicely defined, clean line. It’s not mushy either. The eyeliner is my favorite. It works great. My eyes did look great with the eye shadow and eyeliner together.
The mascara is just mascara. I honestly didn’t see any difference from this mascara, than from my other black mascara. It goes on easily. I didn’t have any clumps….but it was just mascara.
My eyes did look great with the Cover Girl Exact Collection for brown eyes. I would even say they looked vibrant and well defined. Even with grey. It has a dressy quality to the colors and application. I highly recommend the eyeliner and eye shadow. I don’t think the mascara is necessary if you are already pleased with the mascara you use.
