Money is the perfect gift for giving. You know the recipient will use it and that they will get what they truly want. However, many people just put the gift into a card and call it a day. Why not get creative and give the perfect gift in a truly unique way? Try some of these ideas or just a few. But some maybe considered a “gag” gift, so use wisely. Have fun giving the perfect gift this year.
Inside a book or calendar: Put money in various pages within the book. You can keep the money in place by using a paperclip or a piece of removable tape. If that doesn’t work for you then try taping some money to each page of the calendar.
In a box: Use a cereal box, candy box, Kleenex box, juice box, etc. With boxes the possibilities are endless. Wrap smaller boxes up in bigger boxes. The thing that gets the most response is getting a box of Kleenex and removing the tissues. Get a certain amount of money and tape the bills end to end with a tissue taped on the last bill. Then replace the money with the tissue sticking out. Wrap up the Kleenex box like you would any other gift but right on the tag “Snot your ordinary tissues.” When they seem surprised, have them pull the tissue out attached to the money. Then sit back and enjoy their reactions. It is absolutely priceless!
Wrapped in clothing: Tuck money inside gloves, socks, hats, shoes or slippers. It is great to see the recipient’s face when they only think they are getting a boring pair of gloves.
Fold it up: There are many ways to fold money into beautiful pieces of art. For instance, one can fold a dollar bill into the shape of a rose, butterfly, buildings, etc. This is called money origami. To find patterns and ideas go to www.origami-resource-center.com/moneyorigami.
Clear Ornaments: Roll up the money with a pen or by your hands. Then use tweezers to put the money into a clear ornament. For an added touch personalize the clear ornament with puffy paint with the recipient’s name or something like that.
All of these ideas will help you stray away from the boring stuffing the money into a card scenario. It will be priceless to watch the recipient’s expressions when they open up their gifts. Be creative and enjoy!
