You want to be real cool and chic this year try wearing metal chains in your hair. That’s right 2011 your going to see the grunge look, rocker look, and military look, wouldn’t chains look real cool?
You can turn the chains into headbands, use small thin chains and weave them through braids, thread ribbon through them, or wrap around the hair add an extra chain so it hangs down the side. Heck, at the end you can even put a charm like a skull, cross, or symbol on it.
For those who want the chain look, but feel the material might be too heavy for their head opt for rubber instead. Find a rubber material or maybe use the leather cord material. Anything is possible, and would definitely fit in with the looks mentioned above.
Wedding Chain Headband
Your going to need a 1/2 ft to 1 1/2 of chain (might need more or less depending on hair), white satin ribbon, little bit of white lace, bobby pins, heavy hair elastic and a few rhinestones to glue on.
First decide if your wearing your hair up or down. The headband can be worn in middle of head with an updo, or wear the hair flowing down. It really doesn’t matter.
Then at the end of the chain you need to attach the elastic and connect it on the other side. Then take the white ribbon and weave it through each chain loop. You can do single or double weave. Do the same thing but now with the white lace.
Place the headband on, and make sure the chains aren’t squashing your head. Then add some crystals or rhinestones wherever possible. If your doing a black and white wedding, do black and white gems.
Thin Braids With Chains
Do one side of your hair with thin braids and wrap a thin metal chain around the braid. Do a bunch of thin braids and use several thin chains in-between the braids. Do your whole head in braids then place into a ponytail. Wrap a chain around the ponytail, and use that as the holder.
Triple Chain Headband
Grab yourself some long thin body chains, and layer them together. Turn them into a wide chunky headband. Use on any hairstyle you desire.
UpDo With Hanging Ear cuffs
This is a crazy but unique idea I came up with as well. Some ear cuffs come long on thin metal chains like This. Simply place your hair up in any style desired. Then place the cuff part onto a strand of hair, allowing the chains to hang down. To secure the cuff in place use a bobby pin.
Spiked Chain Look
Find yourself a thin metal chain with spikes on it. If you can not find one opt for a spiked dog training collar. If there is two separate chains on the dog collar, carefully take it apart, and use both of them in your hair. Have the spiked one around a ponytail, and then place the plain chain part as a headband.
I love using my creativity and enjoying creating new looks all the time. I hope you enjoyed this, and even if your not into this look, maybe someone you know is.
