Crystals for Abundance: The Golden Stones
Golden stones relate to the third chakra, which, in the system I use, relate to the area from the navel to the top of the solar plexus. This chakra relates to self-esteem and personal power. The extent to which these qualities are active has a direct connection to one’s abundance.
Imagine a woman named Nancy. She tends to yield to people who are more forceful. Although she’s entitled to a raise, she’s afraid to ask for one. She thinks she might get fired instead. She’d like a new career, but she doesn’t really think she’d do well with anything new.
She’s afraid to experience herself as a powerful person. She may suffer from shallow breathing (since deep breathing is powerful). This may result in constrictions in the abdominal area. Because she holds herself in, she may have digestive problems. Although she may not recognize it, her greatest desire is to be safe by being not noticed.
When fear limits our ability to improve our lives, we experience physical tension, and a vicious cycle begins. The same is true of mental resistance. When we are exposed to ideas that don’t fit into our belief system, we go equally tense. We may feel threatened, and we may shut down.
Nancy is in that state. She resists and gets immediately tense when a friend tries to encourage her to ask for a promotion and/or raise. She may get an upset stomach. She shuts down when that friend tells her that she’s talented and reliable. She tunes out any message that would threaten her safe life.
Working with the golden stones can help with all these limitations.
Citrine, a quartz, captures the color of the sun. As the warmth of the sun melts snow and ice, citrine’s inner warmth helps us to process, digest, and eliminate beliefs that may be blocking us from expressing creativity in a way that helps to realize our dreams.
It also helps us to learn to use our personal power wisely. This means not using it to diminish others but to meet our highest ideals.
Golden calcite represents the next step in crystal work after citrine. The release of old beliefs and limitations clears the way for integrating new energies. Calcite helps us to become innovative in the areas of physical reality like business, home, relationships, and, in general, daily life.
Integrating new realities also involves looking ahead instead of looking back at the past. Past thinking means being afraid to do something new because nothing seems to have ever worked. This, by the way, is rarely the case. If you look to the past with the idea of finding ideas that did work, you will likely find them.
Golden calcite helps us to keep our perspective flexible. It helps us see that the more creative we can be in moving beyond past limitations, the more likely we are to achieve our goals.
Pyrite used to be called fool’s gold because it was often mistaken for gold. Those who didn’t mind being called fools often noticed that the sight of pyrite indicated the nearby presence of gold. This stone has a similar role in abundance. Because it can inspire new ideas, working or meditating with it may lead you to prosperity. Your unusual ideas may lead people to call you a fool, but pyrite will help you to keep your eye on your goal.
Golden topaz is more related to the use of personal power and initiative than directly to abundance. It can be very helpful in eliminating procrastination. Fear of failure often spawns hesitation. Topaz can help to relight the fire and get us in motion again.
Tiger’s eye is better suited to the impatient. It teaches patience, an essential ingredient in becoming prosperous. Every cat, large or small, knows that some times are for waiting, and others are for leaping. Knowing when to make your move is an essential ingredient of abundance, and tiger’s eye helps us acquire the patience to develop good timing.
