Dance pros are saying “The Situation” is the contestant to beat on season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars.” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of “Jersey Shore” is giving dance experts and top professionals good reason to believe he’ll nail the competition during the fall season of “DWTS.”
Choreographers Praise “The Situation’s” Club Dancing Skills
Choreographers, Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin, who are also Latin Dance Champions, tell New York Daily News that the MTV star’s combination of club skills involving fist pumps, one-hop, and beat-the-beat should score high with “Dancing with the Stars” judges.
It’s easy to see where they’re coming from. “The Situation” has mastered the moves in club dancing and is certainly as fit as they come.
Sorrentino Would Do Great with a Jive Piece
Pro dance instructor, Esther Frances said “The Situation’s” chances in doing a successful jive piece is excellent since he’s got the one-hop down – alternate hopping on each foot.
Frances continued that Sorrentino’s fist-pump moves will make intricate ballroom dance sequences and rhythms come easy for him.
Ah, Can’t Forget Those Abs
What about those famous abs? Since they’re the core, they will serve “The Situation” well on “Dancing with the Stars” as a competitive contestant. Frances said they will be crucial support in executing twirls and footwork in ballroom dance routines. His abs will more than do the job in controlling movements.
Less Strictness in Club Dancing Equals More Freedom of Movement
Angelina Prince, a public relations director of USA Dance Inc., said because there’s less strictness in club dancing, Sorrentino will be used to free movement, which so many of the dances require. Many times the “Dancing with the Stars” judges insist on freedom of expression – just listen to Bruno.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino May Be Pam Anderson’s Equal from “DWTS” Spring Season
Last but not least, is “The Situation” and his penchant for being in the public spotlight. With his exhibitionist personality, that may be the one factor that gives him a leg up on other “Dancing with the Stars” contestants. He may be Pamela Anderson’s equal from last season’s “DWTS.”
We need at least one of those contestants each season on “Dancing with the Stars.” Looks like season 11 won’t disappoint.
