The Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup saw slightly surprising results in Week 5. Although the Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup has the same old leaders, the results changed around a bit for a week. Jennifer Grey didn’t lead the way this time, and actually found herself in the bottom three. And although Bristol Palin was the lowest scoring contestant, she was quickly ruled safe while Florence Henderson was sent home. As such, the Dancing With the Stars lineup enters the second half of Season 11 trying to build, or recover from, these new results.
For only the second time this season, Grey was not the top scoring dancer on a Monday night. That honor went to Brandy, as she joined Audrina Patridge in the running for Grey’s toughest competition. But Grey might already be motivated to take back control, after she was in the bottom three on Tuesday.
The Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup was subject to an unusual results show on October 19. Palin had the worst scores on Monday, but although David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton, Margaret Cho and The Situation all left after being in the basement, Palin did not. In fact, for the first time since Week 2, she did not place in the bottom two or three.
Florence Henderson’s elimination was not a huge surprise, since she was likely to leave eventually. However, she was shocked to leave this early, as were a few other fans. Henderson, Palin and Kurt Warner seemed to be the worst contestants left, yet Palin survived and Warner placed high on Monday.
Kyle Massey had a poor week, yet he was not left in danger, while Rick Fox’s high scores didn’t save him from being in the bottom two. Patridge also slid a bit, as her run of success was halted temporarily. For the first time in a while, the Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup had a different order of results than expected.
Now with Season 11 halfway over, and with the pretenders getting knocked off, the crucial weeks are now forthcoming. Contestants start to feel the pressure, and the toll of weeks of hard work, right about now. If the favorites are going to start showing weakness, now would be the time, as Grey and Patridge have already shown some vulnerability.
With the Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup narrowing down to seven contestants, poor results on Monday nights could be more costly. Palin survived her low scores, but her luck is bound to run out soon. Meanwhile, Grey, Patridge, Fox, Massey and Patridge have more of a margin of error, but they can’t afford to waste it early, while Brandy and Warner look to keep their new momentum.
The next key steps of Dancing With the Stars will be taken by the lineup in Week 6, starting Monday night at 8 pm est on ABC.
