The Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup faced elimination again last night. But much of the Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup seemed safe from elimination after Monday’s performances. Jennifer Grey, Audrina Patridge, Brandy, Rick Fox and Kyle Massey appeared to do well enough not to worry. The contestants who really had to cross their fingers were Kurt Warner, Florence Henderson, Bristol Palin and The Situation. Yet in the end of Week 4, Dancing With the Stars sent the Situation back to the Jersey Shore.
The Situation finished in dead last on Monday, and was the obvious favorite for elimination. David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton and Margaret Cho didn’t survive being in last place either, so things didn’t look good for The Situation. He had to hope that Palin, Henderson, or someone else had worn out their welcome first.
Those in danger of leaving Dancing With the Stars were ultimately The Situation, Palin and Warner. Palin already survived the bottom two on Week 3, while Warner slid down after seeming to show some improvement last week. Yet Palin appeared to show promise two weeks ago, and is now among the pretenders.
Warner was declared safe first, leaving Palin and The Situation in the bottom two. However, for the second straight elimination night, Palin skated by since someone else had done much worse. Therefore, The Situation and his abs will now only be seen on one show for the moment.
For a few weeks, Mike Sorrentino had become more powerful than ever, as he was part of Dancing With the Stars on Mondays and Tuesdays before his regular Jersey Shore episodes on Thursdays. But now he has been ousted from his new show just a few weeks before his regular show ends its second season.
After being on TV three nights a week, it won’t be long before The Situation finally takes a break from the airwaves. However, he will technically be on for four nights this week, since he and Jersey Shore are getting slammed on South Park tonight.
As for the rest of the Dancing With the Stars lineup, last night’s elimination leaves the field down to eight. Palin may now be the favorite to get eliminated next week, with only Warner and Henderson left among the designated also-rans. Grey, Patridge, Brandy, Fox and Massey are separating themselves as the major contenders, and might be the only ones left before long.
There are still a few weeks before that might happen, although time is running out for Palin and the other underdogs to bounce back. The Dancing With the Stars lineup will return on Monday, at 8 pm est on ABC, as they seek to avoid elimination again.
