Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer, and Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are the final three couples standing, as they have all survived the first nine elimination shows. All three couples performed two dances on Monday night, beginning the tally of scores that will help determine the winner of season 11.
The Dancing With the Stars week 10 results from Day 1 are as follows:
November 22 Dancing With the Stars Scores (Week Ten)
*Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough — 30/30 (FD) + 30/30 (SD) = 60/60
*Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer — 27/30 (FD) + 29/30 (SD) = 56/60
*Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas — 27/30 (FD) + 25/30 (SD) = 52/60
**FD = First Dance; SD = Second Dance**
Those scores are through the first two dances, and gave Jennifer Greg and Derek Hough a nice advantage heading into the final night of competition. The three couples will also have two more (new) dances on Tuesday night that will add even more points to their total scores. Then the audience voting with come into play, where it will count for 50% of the total score. Think of the four dances as one half of the scoring, and the second half of the scoring left entirely up to the fans at home.
November 23 Dancing With the Stars Recap (Day Two – Finals)
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer performed the first dance of night two, recreating their Tango from earlier in the season. It was a very energetic performance to begin the night, and it was equally impressive to witness just how much Massey has improved this season. They were given two nines and an eight for the dance, for a combined score of 26 out of 30.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas performed their Argentine Tango second. There was a bit of “roughness” to the dance, and there seemed to be some incomplete holds during the dance that might have hurt her in the judges’ voting. The judges were very kind when they reviewed her dance though, and they complimented Palin on how far she had come this season. They were given two eights and a nine for a combined score of 25 out of 30.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were last up in the first round, performing the Viennese Waltz. It was one of the better dances of the season when they first performed it, and it was a wonderful choice for the finale. The judges loved it the second time around too, and Len even called Jennifer the “complete package.” They received three tens from the judges for a combined score of 30 out of 30.
For the second dance, all of the contestants performed a Cha Cha as an instant dance. This took place with about 20 minutes left in the show, and the judges scores are coming in soon.
Kyle and Lacey received their scores from the judges first, and they got two nines and a ten for a combined 28 out of 30.
Jennifer and Derek were scored second, and they received two nines and a ten for a combined 28 out of 30.
Bristol and Mark got their scores last, and they received three nines for a combined score of 27 out of 30.
Combined Season 11 Dancing With the Stars Judges’ Scores (Finals)
*Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough — 60/60 (Day 1) + 30/30 (FD) + 28/30 (SD) = 118/120
*Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer — 56/60 (Day 1) + 26/30 (FD) + 28/30 = 110/120
*Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas — 52/60 (Day 1) + 25/30 (FD) + 27/30 (SD) = 104/120
**FD = First Dance Day Two; SD = Second Dance Day Two**
The results were read with about 10 minutes left in the Dancing With the Stars season finale. Coming in third place was Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas.
