The season 11 Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) cast was revealed tonight during ABC’s The Bachelor Pad. The cast always seems sketchy at first, but I never cease to be amazed at the dancing pulled off by the cast of stars.
Season 11 of DTWS is an eclectic mix of personality and celebrity, with some contestants appearing to be unlikely contenders from the start, but you can never tell what will happen with a lot of practice and direction from professional dance partners.
We will get our first chance to take a look at the competitors when the season premier airs Monday, September 20, 8pm ET.
Until then, let the speculation begin.
Season 11 Cast of Dancing with the Stars
DWTS season 11 dancers for the hit TV show include the following celebrities.
Brandy will work the dance floor like she has been working her career on reality TV. A R&B and pop singer, actress, and reality TV star Brandy brings a lot of pop to the DWTS dance floor.
Jennifer Gray is the actress best known for her role opposite Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. She was hot to trot in Dirty Dancing, but at 50 Jennifer Gray hopes expectations don’t bring her early demise.
Margaret Cho, a stand up comedian may not be as funny on the ballroom floor as some of the other contestants in this season’s dance crew. Cho is a regular on Drop Dead Diva. I doubt she will drop on the dance floor, and may actually pull a new diverse segment of fans to Dancing with the Stars.
Audrina Patridge, star of six seasons of The Hills will be dancing. Maybe she can dance better than she can act. We shall see.
Florence Henderson, aka “Mrs. Brady”, takes to the dance floor at the tender young age of 76. She looks like she hasn’t aged a bit. Critics have picked Florence Henderson as an early fan favorite due to her popularity from the hit television sitcom The Brady Bunch. We will find out on Sept. 20th if her legs have kept pace with her face lifts. She is a very active senior and does all things well. I would not be surprised to see her go the distance on Dancing with the Stars.
Bristol Palin was the only personality who didn’t bounce on-stage. She has a long way to go to demonstrate the glitz and pizzazz that viewers expect to see on the dance floor. Knowing the liberal bent of ABC I hope their decision to put Bristol Palin on DWTS is not intent on embarrassing Alaska’s former first family.
Bristol may come out and surprise us all, but based on gut instinct alone I don’t look for her to make it very far.
Michael Bolton couldn’t be present for the announcement, but he will put away his microphone in favor of his dancing shoes for season 11 DWTS. Bolton has the potential to show well since he has an affinity for music. I feel sure he will be able to move with the music.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was rumored to be a season 11 contender and, sure enough, he will show up for Dancing with the Stars. It’s hard to imagine that such a tool will be able to find the moves he needs on the big ballroom dance floor. He already thinks he is the master of all the moves that count. I predict catastrophe with “The Situation” on the dance floor, but not before he brings a new, if not classy, group of young viewers to Dancing with the Stars.
David Hasselhoff is another old celebrity making his round on Dancing with the Stars. Hasselhoff fell out of public favor a long time ago. He is washed up and I cannot imagine the public putting up with his ego for very long. Besides, he doesn’t exactly appear the type to be light on his feet.
Kurt Warner has won a Super Bowl, now we will see if he can win beneath the mirrored ball. If he can make moves on the dance floor the way he does on a football field he stands to be a strong contender and another fan favorite.
Kyle Massey represents the younger stars. Kyle is a hip-hop artist, but is best known for his role in That’s so Raven and Cory in the House. He is a comedic actor and performer. He definitely has the rhythm. It remains to be seen if he can keep his feet to the beat.
Rick Fox, NBA champion and ex-husband of Vanessa Williams, is my favorite going into the season. Fox is no stranger to the camera, and he definitely has the look. Even showing up for Dancing with the Stars cast announcement he looked pulled together and collected – tall, dark, and handsome. Don’t vote him off.
