This week on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” get set for something out of the ordinary as the stars each take on one ballroom dance as well as the never-before- seen “Instant Dance”. Could this new twist produce instant disastrous results for the remaining 5 stars and their pro partners? Read on for a preview of what to expect this week on “Dancing With the Stars”.
It’s one thing to practice a dance all week and set the choreography to each beat in a predetermined song. But with this week’s Instant Dance the “DWTS” stars won’t get that chance.
While they will be told the type of Latin dance they must perform upfront, the contestants won’t be given their music selection until the live show starts on Monday night. Yikes! This will really show who has chemistry with their partner and it could really shake up the judges’ scores this week.
In his blog for TV Guide, “Dancing With the Stars” pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy compared the “Instant Dance” to having “a professional swimmer swim in Jell-O”.
As for this season’s off the wall theme dances and marathons, Maks also added, “The format and changes are wearing on the professionals too. We are mentally drained and physically exhausted….. I know they want to try new things and keep people on their toes, but I also think it will make for better TV if you can prepare properly… I don’t want to do instant dances or dance marathons because there’s no way to properly prepare for it. “
Meanwhile, fans are still reeling from Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke’s shocking elimination last week. So this week, with the “Instant Dance” scores thrown into the mix, it may be more important than ever for fans to vote for their favorites.
The final 5 “DWTS” couples are:
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer
Also this week, let’s hope the stars have some thick skin because it’s the return of the snark-filled “Dance Center” commentary, with Len Goodman, Kenny Maynes and Jerry Rice. Fellas, can we keep the shirts on this time, please?
On Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” results show, John Legend and The Roots will perform the songs “Wake Up” and “Ordinary People”. Taio Cruz will sing “Dynamite” and child piano prodigy Emily Bear will also perform.
The next episode of “Dancing With the Stars” airs live on Monday, November 8th at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
