At the opening of Week Six of “Dancing With The Stars“, a fan-voted top 10 of all time dancers were revealed. The top dance in the history of “DWTS“ was Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke. Their dance, to the tune of “Save a horse, ride a cowboy”, was in Season Two, and won a perfect score from the judges.
First up to dance for week six was Audrina and Tony. They danced to the tune of “Another One Bites The Dust” and received 24/30 points from the judges. Len was hard on Audrina, saying that she has the potential to blow the judges away week after week, and work needs to be done in regards to getting into character. CarrieAnn said that her dancing is showing improvement in the lines and shapes of her dance technique.
The next couple hitting the dance floor was Kyle and Lacey. They were the couple to receive the lowest score last week, but Kyle is keeping the winning spirit. “We are contenders in this competition.” Regarding their tango for week six, Len had this to say, “The Dance was much better, performance driven, was an improvement from last week.” Len also stated he wanted to see more technique. Bruno loved their pair’s tango. “The footwork was better, much, much better–way to go!” The couple received 23/30 points.
Jennifer and Derek held the number one spot for four weeks, but techniques by Jennifer have lessened, allowing their top level to be taken away. CarrieAnn told Jennifer, “You need to calm down. You are going downhill.” Len agreed, “You lost a bit of control.” Bruno chimed in, stating, “You have to tone down a bit.” An instant replay revealed a portion of the dance where Jennifer obviously forgot where she was in regards to the routine. The couple received low scores from the judges, 20/30.
Rick and Cheryl were up next, and they wowed the judges and audience with a well-done tango. This was my personal favorite dance of the night. The judges agreed. Len praised the pair, “Excellent Job. Well done”. Carrie Ann agreed, stating, “I think you did amazing. Really, really well done”. They received 24/30 from the judges.
Bristol and Mark made a nice comeback from last week’s dance. To the tune of the Monkees’ theme song, the idea of monkee suits didn’t suit the judges at all. Len had this to say about last night’s performance. “Last week a chimp, this week almost a champ”. Bruno praised their routine, “Best performance and technique”. They received their best scores so far in the competition, 23/30.
Brandy and Maks also did a tango to a rock song, and Bruno said that their tango really rocked. Len agreed, saying, “Maks, you’re my hero. The dance of the night. Well done”. Carrie Ann loved it as well, “I watched that, and had goosebumps. Very impressive”. For the second week in a row, the couple received the highest score from the judges. They received 26/30, giving them the highest score of the night.
Kurt and Anna were given some pointers by Brett Michaels, on being a rock star. But, that wasn’t enough help to move them up the judges’ score board. CarrieAnn said, “It didn’t really have a lot of polish, and didn’t come together”. Len followed with, “You looked awkward, and I felt awkward watching”. The couple earned 18/30 points, for the lowest score of the evening.
The second part of DWTS was the dance marathon. All the couples were able to freestyle on the floor, and the judges removed the couples one by one. The last couple standing recieved 10 points, the second to last couple standing received 9 points, and so on. The first couple tagged for removal from the marathon received four points. Here are the results from the marathon.Kurt and Anna were the first to go, and received four points, giving them a total of 22 points for the night. Bristol and Mark were the second couple cut, with a score of 28 points. Recieving 30 points total, Cheryl and Rick were the third couple to leave the marathon. Kyle and Lacey followed as the fourth couple to leave, with 30 points. Audrina and Tony exited the floor next, with 32 points.
The last two dancing couples on the floor were Jennifer and Deren and Brandy and Maks. Both couples were looking good, but the judges cut Jennifer, stating that Brandy and Maks looked very coordinated. Jennifer’s total score for the night was 29; while Brandy came in first with a whopping 36 points.
So, at the top of the leader board, based just on judges’ scores, are Brandy and Maks. At the bottom of the list are Kurt and Anna for week six. Tune in Tuesday to see how America voted.
