Inspired by a classic literature “The Devine Comedy” by Dante, this game is sure to take you directly into the depths of Hell. Electronic Arts got together with Visceral Games and decided to put this little classic piece into some serious game play action. The visual quality of this game is very graphic and stimulating; it provides a perfect example of what Dante has described as the depths of Hell.
This story unlike war stories of most games involves a love story. One man, Dante must face demons and save his one and only love from being devoured. The story begins at his arrival to his home where his love Beatrice is lying colder than stone outside. Lucifer then comes and drags her screaming into the depths of the realm he crawled out from. Thus begins Dante’s adventure as he follows.
Before he is able to save Beatrice, he must face his own sins and discretions. Once he finally battles with his own resolves he then is able to face the horrid fallen angel. It is up to you the player whether or not Beatrice is saved. With CGI movie scenes the story is easy to follow but not faithfully following the classic literature. After all, it is a game and there would not be much Hollywood adventure involved if the makers did follow Dante’s exact book.
In Dante’s inferno, there is a lot of nudity and violence so perhaps some discretion should be used as far as letting kids play. Children under the age of 16 should not be permitted to play this game. For this reason, Dante’s inferno is rated M for the intense Gore, blood guts, and of course violence.
The game Dante’s inferno can be found at amzon.com for $32.00 not including shipping and handling. This can also be located at your nearest best buy store which would be the more logical and better priced location to buy nearly any game you wish to purchase.
