Sometimes we overuse the word love, we don’t mean to, we use it to express the ultimate feeling we have for someone or something.
We don’t intend to diminish its meaning but we often don’t know how to say or express our feeling in words and love seems to encompass it all.
We love your music, your artistry, your character and your smile. We really like you and who you are as a person. Even if you weren’t David Archuleta singer/songwriter extraordinaire and you came home with one of my nephews just to hang out, I would like you. You are one of those people that have substance, someone that has something worth while to say that makes a lasting impression. Someone you would want to share stories with and hold dear as a friend.
You want your music to make an impression on people and it will. Heavenly Father is smiling down on you, proud that his path he laid out for you have taken you in the right direction. You and your music have made a difference to many people already and will continue for generations to come.
After listening to “The Other Side of Down”, I understand the meaning behind the lyrics to many of your songs. Life is short and we must take every opportunity we can to embrace the purpose that God sent us here and establish connections to our loved ones, friends and others and serve each other well.
Hope, purpose, faith, caring and love is your inner core and who you are as a person and your music brings you in the light for all to see and enjoy.
Human beings have a need to be useful, for our lives to mean something and not just be time spent existing and surviving. Being useful is an innate human drive – we’re social animals that thrive on collaboration and cooperation. We ignore or undervalue our skills and talents but we all have something to bring to the table.
David, have no fear of being useless, you won’t be left behind, you already have made an impact and your influence on kids will be remembered for the right thing. You recognize and respect the humanity in others, regardless of their current situation or standing. You do what you know to be right even if it goes against the desires of everyone around you that is the true measure of human integrity.
Life does not consist of years lived, but of its usefulness. You are giving, loving, serving, helping, encouraging and adding value to others, you have a useful life!
