It’s power is now the second leading cause of death
Fear, hopelessness, the ever unknown to come is embedded in the minds of those afflicted with this messenger of death. It is the second leading cause of death among Americans, second only to heart disease. Even if it is found early and the most recent treatments are received it can still come and cut a persons’ life short.
The major television event “Stand Up To Cancer” was held Friday and covered by major television networks. It featured an array of celebrities all their for one major purpose to raise fund to aide in research for cures and treatments.
Even though presently there are a lot of successful treatments in which decades ago were not present, one general cure still remains to be seen due to a host of many reasons. In existence today there are greater than 100 types of cancers, defined by abnormal cell growth. Numerous elements bring them out which is a broad spectrum from radiation, viruses and being exposed to cancer causing substances.
Cancer cell growth cannot be determined they have no set patterns and a lot are still a scientific mystery. Then there are those that are just plain deceitful, just as they appear to be gone at some point of time they once again rear their ugly presence.
Since around the beginning start of the seventies $200 billion dollars has been spent on cancer research. What was then of a survival rate of about 50% has now risen to 65%.
Between the years of 2003 and 2007 based on the most recent information from the National Cancer Institute, the following list is the top rated cancers that had killed more persons in the United States.
Lung and Bronchus: Cancer forms in the tissues of the lung, most often in the cell lining air passages. The two main types are small lung and non-small lung. In combination of both types the estimates for 2010 are 222,520 new cases diagnosed and 157,300 cessation of life.
Colon and Rectal: Cancer forming in the tissue of the colon. Rectal cancer forms in the tissues of the rectum. In combination of both types the estimations for 2010 are 102,900 colon and 39,670 rectal and in cessation of life 51,370 combined.
Breast: Cancer forming in the tissue of the breast usually in the ducts and lobules. It can strike men and women alike. However, it is rare in men. For men and women the estimations for 2010 are 207,090 in women and 1,970 men and for cessation of life 39,840 women and 390 in men.
Pancreatic: Disease in which malignant cancer cells are found in the tissues of pancreas. Estimations for 2010 43,140 new cases and 36,800 cessation of life.
Prostate: The cancer forms in the tissues of prostate. This cancer usually occurs in older men. Estimations for 2010 217,730 new cases and 32,050 cessation of life.
Leukemia: The cancer begins in the blood-forming tissue such as bone marrow. It brings about a large number of blood cells to be developed and enter the bloodstream. Estimations for 2010 43,050 new cases and 21,840 cessation of life.
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: Any large groups of cancer lymphocytes (white blood cells). It can strike anyone of any age and are usually characterized by lymph nodes which are larger than normal, fever along with weight loss. There are different types of this cancer fast growing and slow growing and can be produced in either B or T cells. Estimations for 2010 65,540 new cases and 20,210 cessation of life.
Liver and intrahepaticbile duct: Liver cancer is one of the most usual forms of cancer around the nation. According to the Mayo Clinic it is uncommon in the United States. Yet, the rates of incidence are increasing in the United States. Most of the liver cancers begin elsewhere in the body and then spread to the liver. A very near associated cancer is intrahepaticbile bile duct cancer, that happens in the duct that delivers the bile from liver to small intestines. Estimations are 19,000 Americans will have cessation of life from this cancer.
Ovarian: Cancer forms in the tissues of the ovary. Most of these cancers are either ovarian epithelial carcinomas or malignant germ cell tumors. Estimations for 2010 21,880 new cases and 13,850 cessation of life.
Esophageal: Cancer forms in the tissue lining of the esophagus. The two types are squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Estimations for 2010 16,640 new cases and 14,500 cessation of life.
There are millions of Americans who are living with the diagnoses of cancer. The National Cancer Institute provides information on this disease. It provides possible causes, testing, symptoms, diagnoses and treatment. They also give suggestions for coping with this disease. You reach them by telephone at 1-800-4-CANCER or on the web at National Cancer Institute.
There are also alternative cancer treatments delivered directly by mother nature. A lot of them are not recognized among conventional medicine. However, there have some treatments that have worked.
Natural treatments are not in any way toxic so they cannot damage your body as some conventional treatments end up doing in the process of trying to rid your body of the cancer. Currently there is greater than 400 alternative cancer treatments which are available. These treatments have been well documented.
The Independent Cancer Research Foundation concentrates on research for cancer treatments with hopes they will not produce any more inflammation and swelling along with protecting with super nutrients the non-cancerous cells, stop the spreading of the cancer and the elimination of the current cancer cells or change them back into normal cells.
This is one of just a handful of organizations who are looking towards a cure and more effective treatments of cancer.
Some of the current treatments include:
OCC: It is developed to change all cancer cells in a persons body back into normal cells. This treatment has been under research for several years. Due to the fact is is listed as research protocol it is not released yet as a proven treatment. It is not recommended for those who are advanced stage.
Wheat grass/Ultraviolet Treatment: This treatment consists of wheat grass juice which has been used for decades in alternative medicine and ultraviolet light which has been around and used for just as long. The idea is to eliminate microbes that are contained in the cancer cells.
