Denver Beer Fest 2010 is happening from September 10 through September 19 this year. Beer tastings, brewery tours, beer-inspired meals, “Meet the Brewer” events, and tons of other fun stuff including happy hours galore and events for beer enthusiasts of every type will be going on for those 10 days. Don’t miss out!
Denver Beer Fest Guide: Beer Tasting
It’s what we’re all here for, right? There are almost two dozen beer tasting events happening this year offering hundreds of beers for you to taste. One the top of my list is the 13th annual Brew at the Zoo presented by the Denver Zoo. It’s $65 a person but it’s well worth the ticket to get to hang out at the zoo at night. It happens September 10 from 7pm to 10pm. The Zoo is at 2300 Steele Street.
Another fun beer tasting will be going down at the Oktoberfest Beer & Wine Tasting Fundraiser presented by Denver Firefighters Museum. Held at the 101-year-old firehouse, this year’s theme includes a live basket auction, German food and beer, of course. The cost is $30 per person and it’s happening 1326 Tremont Place on September 18th from 6pm to 10pm.
Denver Beer Fest Guide: For the True Beer Enthusiast
There are a number of can’t miss events at this year’s Denver Beer Fest that match beer drinking with other favorites: football, cheese, burlesque, ice cream.
I’m a big fan of eating when I drink, so I won’t be missing the Tasty Trifecta of Beautiful Beer, Sweets & Creamy Cheese at the Tasty Weasel Taproom at Oskar Blues Brewery on September 15 from 7pm to 8:30pm. It costs $39 but it’s well worth it for the feast of beer and cheese.
On September 14, Beer, Brats and Burlesque! presented by Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret at 1601 Arapahoe Street in Denver is another can’t miss hit. You get beer samples from Avery Brewery out of Boulder, CO, while you watch the Clocktower Clockettes perform their burlesque comedy routine. Don’t forget to get your $25 tickets to this ahead of time (includes 10 beers to taste, the performance and food). Show starts at 7pm.
Denver Beer Fest Guide: Pub Crawl
Whatever you do, don’t miss out on the pub crawl! You’ll start out with a crowd and pick up stragglers along the way as you travel around downtown Denver. Pay for what you drink when you drink it. No upfront charges or admission. Starts at Snooze at 9am (yes, that’s in the morning) on September 17. Not to be missed!
