Our bodies organs are built to clean out waste and toxins from our bodies; keeping us healthy. These are some ways to keep these organs healthy; so they can perform properly.
The most important cleansing organ is our liver.
The liver works in several ways; first our digested food is carried into the liver where it is then broken down and distributed to clean the body of excess waste that is produced into ammonia and bile. These are then moved into the intestines throw the gallbladder and water soluble substances are released into the kidneys; were they are broken down further.
Of course ingesting fewer toxins will help the liver function properly. Unfortunately in today’s world; toxins are in the air we breathe; to the food we eat. They are at times unavoidable. But you can help your body by keeping your organs working properly and helping them preform to cleanse your body of toxins.
To start there are many herbs you take on a daily bases; and some you may to choose to take only during a cleansing period over a few days. There are also foods you can make into soups and to be taken once a week to help rid your body of toxins.
Herbs you can take on a daily bases
Milk thistle is safe enough to take on a daily bases, the silymarin helps to regenerate the liver, though it can create more bile. Burdock is another safe herb that can be taken on a daily bases to help cleans the liver. Bothe herbs can be purchased in capsule form in a health food store. You may also use kelp, dandelion, parsley, garlic, fennel and flax daily.
Other herbs should not be used longer than a few days while doing a complete body cleaning. Alum root, barberry, black walnut, aloe, hyssop, yellow root and turmeric should only be used sparingly as they have high laxative properties.
When planning on a doing a cleansing for a few days. Drink lots of water to help flush out toxins. Due to the laxative abilities of the herbs; plan on staying in for those few days. Get a lot of exercise, do some yoga to help oxygenated blood get to organs.
Do not do a full body cleansing if you are feeling sick.
There are also foods that have cleansing abilities; you can use them in soups and salads. Foods like cabbage, carrots, beans, asparagus, lemons, rhubarb, and pansy are great cleansers.
Along with cleansing your internal organs, you have to focus on the biggest organ our skin. The best way to clean the skin of toxins is through perspiration. I do not recommend using herbs to increase perspiration, but they are available. I would recommend exercise, saunas, sweat lodge or a nice salt bath.
If you are under a doctor’s care, pregnant or taken medication check with your doctor to be sure it is safe for you to take herbal supplements or do a body cleansing. Some herbs can cause hypoglycemia, dropping blood sugar and blood pressure. Long term use of any herb that has a laxative effect can cause intestinal problems.
