The Children’s Center in readiness of the new school year approaching are setting up their early intervention programs for families and children who have autistic spectrum disorders for those ages of 18 months old to six years old. The Children’s Center (TCC) acknowledges one of the most rapid increasing developmental disabilities in the United States today influencing autistic children. On that note TCC is providing back to school assistance to those families with children who have Autism.
The P.L.A.Y. Project of TCC is one of of a kind. It is among the few organizations in Detroit that provides: monthly home agency visits, videotape technology, education for the whole family complete with written evaluations and feedback. There one on one mediation employs comprehensive resources which are focused around the child, individualized, relationship associated and mixed with school and other therapies. In addition, TCC has an extraordinary program for mentally and emotionally impaired(MEI) children and youths. The children are taught skill building methods like those of fundamental social skills, expression of emotions, handling anxiety, and general social communication.
MEI’s goal is to give comprehensive and quality treatment to adolescence in order to lessen the requirement for hospitalization or out of home placements.
George Winn, Chief Operating Officer of The Children’s Center states, that their group consists of nine Board certified Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists, Clinicians, Art Therapists and Case Managers, who bring the most immense quality treatments to children who have emotional impairments along with their families.
