It seems that being a politician in the United States is in demand these days. Apart from all the economic problems, lack of affordable health insurance and the hundreds of people who have lost their jobs in construction and casinos, Politicians have spent the last year blaming each other without carrying out any plans to help improve the financial status of low-income Americans and Entrepreneurs who are barely surviving on their small business Income.
I am neither Democrat nor Republican and it seems that many of us have forgotten that the eight years before the Presidency of Obama – or as many like me think – the Reid/Pelosi Presidency, we were in a deep debt hole thanks to the G.W. Bush era.
I do not think Mr. Obama is doing a good job so far, or at least I do not believe he is doing anything for the people who elected him. But I could be wrong and the people who elected him was the same people who enjoyed the excessive bonuses they received after their company was bailed out by the stimulus that Washington handed out to save their companies from bankruptcy.
For many people in this nation, Obama is a “Messiah” and have put a great responsibility of redemption and salvation on his shoulders – but they forget that hi is just a human being who cannot gives more of what his limitations allow.
My opinion is that if the executive and legislative branches of our government are the same political party, nothing is going to get done until there is balance between the two major parties – which is very difficult with the current congress we have – and I’m sure they will take the remainder of 2010 to do absolutely nothing, so we just have to wait and see if 2011 they work together to improve our declining economy.
The verbal attacks and negative references by our current president to Las Vegas affected many people’s livelihood by losing their jobs, but despite the bad publicity, tourist are still coming to have fun and spent money in our city.
Giving money to Las Vegas as Obama offered to decrease foreclosures, did not made a difference in saving people’s properties as the 100 million dollars Nevada received were washed through in bureaucracy and paperwork and never got to the hand of the home owners who really needed it to save their homes – If these politicians would have use the money the squandered in their campaigns to destroy one another and use it to help the many needy families, they would have had more votes.
No politician seems to be interested in saving us from the unemployment hole we are in. We need work, more tourist to come t visit Las Vegas to contribute to fill up hotels rooms and restaurants throughout the year as our economy depends totally on what happens in casinos.
Dear Congressmen, We Need Jobs!
The Election Day has passed and voters have elected who will represent us in Washington for the years to come starting in 2011.
I really wish the new House and Congress work better together on the next legislative sessions compared to the last two years.
