This is a simple (and cheap) DIY baby shower favor that will delight party guests, with colors accommodating either a new baby boy or girl. The mini diapers are easy to make (no sew) and can be filled with any small candy desired.
Materials Needed for Mini Diaper Baby Shower Favor
* 6 inch squares of flannel in desired color (1 square for each mini diaper)
* 5 inch squares of white tulle netting (1 for each mini diaper)
* 8 inches of ¼ inch wide ribbon to match flannel (8 inches per mini diaper)
* Small gold safety pins ( available at craft stores)
* Pinking shears
* Small candies
**Each mini diaper will measure 3-½ inches across and 2-½ inches high when finished.
How To Assemble the Mini Diaper
Trim each edge of the flannel squares with pinking shears, creating a five inch square of flannel.
Fold the flannel square in half diagonally to form a triangle. The triangle fold will create the top side of the mini diaper.
Bring the sides of the triangle to the center, then bring the bottom of the triangle up to the center to shape the mini diaper. Pin the three triangle ends together in the center with a gold safety pin.
Fill the Baby Shower Favor with Candy
Place a few pieces of small candy in the center of each white tulle netting square. Gather the edges of the tulle netting together and tie a bow just above the candy with an 8 inch length of coordinating ribbon. Tuck the candy-filled netting inside the mini diaper.
Uses for Mini Diaper Baby Shower Favor
The traditional use for any baby shower favor is to give one to each guest, however this mini diaper favor could be used in other ways during the baby shower too.
Baby shower guest’s names can be written on the front of the mini diaper with a craft pen and worn during the baby shower as a nametag. The new baby’s name could also be written on the front of the party favor so after the candy has been removed, the mini diaper can be flattened and placed in a baby scrap book or photo album. Give the mini diapers as prizes to winners of games played during the baby shower and/or fill the mini diapers with something other than small candies to give as baby shower favors.
